Elena Somerhalder’s desire to strengthen the beautiful bond formed between a mother and her child led to her ministry with moms at The Treehouse. Her yearning to help others in all stages of life comes from her deep love of God and the church, and the countless lives she’s touched can attest that Elena lives her life with His words guiding her.
As a mother of three, she’s personally experienced the joys and sorrows that come with motherhood. She emphasizes prayer, empathy and love as the foundation for building strong relationships through all of life’s daily challenges. Just Elena’s presence brings a sense of peace and calm to the room as she teaches our moms to find their inner strength and meet difficulties with determination and a smile.

A steadfast volunteer, Elena has taught in The Treehouse classroom since our founding. She’s mentored moms on nearly every topic imaginable from organizing finances, to cooking on a budget, to etiquette and bible study. Her kindness and sincerity gives every Treehouse mom, volunteer and staff member the feeling of being reunited with a trusted old friend.
Elena has spent her life serving God and others with zeal and dedication, albeit quietly. She’s spread the word about The Treehouse to others – organizing events, providing crucial donations, volunteering regularly and cheerleading whenever called upon. She’s happiest, doing these things without recognition.
